Approach
I practice somatic psychotherapy, meaning I understand emotions as physical experiences, or that physical, emotional, and mental factors are crucially interrelated. I view therapy as a tool with which we can gain or reclaim access to options, be they in behavior, feelings, or thoughts.
My therapeutic stance is holistic; I integrate many treatment approaches, including internal family systems psychotherapy, EMDR, guided imagery meditation, somatic awareness strategies, mindfulness, attachment theory, and dreamwork. I listen deeply to you, in all of the ways you communicate, and value the regenerative potential of the therapeutic relationship.
I welcome people of all races, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations. You may identify as queer, genderqueer, male, female, gay, straight, pansexual, asexual, kinky, religious, spiritual, atheist, and I look forward to talking with you about how these distinctions of self, and more, inform your reality.
Individuals
Reasons for seeking individual therapy are as endlessly diverse and complex as people are and the urge is rarely a singular one. People have sought individual therapy with me to explore things like:
Trauma resolution
Family and relationship dynamics
Support with grief, anxiety, depression, and other challenging-to-navigate emotions
Examining a general sense of discontent or discomfort
A desire to deepen the relationship to oneself
Relationships
People in relationships have sought therapy to explore things like:
Communication challenges
Developing trust and intimacy
Conscious uncoupling
Polyamorous, non-monogamous, and open relationships
Recovery from infidelity
Please feel encouraged to contact me if you’re seeking support for a triad, moresome, or if your format of romantic relationship is not represented by those words.
I work with people who describe their relationship structures as monogamous, non-monogamous, hierarchical, nonhierarchical, polyamorous and more.
